Negative space – what you choose always leaves something unchosen

Swirling paint

Tapestry woven

There are things which are said

More left unspoken

In the spaces between

What was done

And said

Are the things we don’t have

Those we never expect

Choosing this

Sometimes means leaving another

The price of what’s done

Is unspent

Untried

Untested

Lifetimes are made

Of unfinished canvases

And the space in between

The brush strokes

Are what makes us

Often

Just as much as that which is painted

  1. I hang with a bunch of musicians. Stories get passed around. Both Eric Clapton and Miles Davis said about the same thing. The space between the note sis as important as the notes that you play. Let them breath.
