What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?
My wedding ring. Nearly 30 years. My husbands didn’t make it – it wore through ten years ago and now lives out its battered life on a shelf. Hard manual labour will do that to a workers hands.

I’m on a very rare day today. The only thing that’s older than a year or two is a Gap T. That could be anywhere from 5 to 10 years. I almost always am wearing some piece of clothing that I bought when my kids were young.
I wish I could say the same Jeff. My wardrobe for the last few years has less change and my wardrobe now will last until pieces wear out because I love it so much. Unfortunately I haven’t always bought things with a long term view. At least I do now I guess.
Gap T’s are so cool, Jeff. Go, you good thing!
I love that you’ve been married for so long, Kate – that’s an inspiration to me and I hope to be able to say the same one day. I love that because of hard work, your ring has been worn down. That’s a beautiful story there. Big hug xx
Oh no my ring is fine! It’s my husbands that’s worn through. Hmm I’ll have to check what I wrote here..
It was me, I mis-read it, Kate. I did a correction but I’m not sure it came through xx
* your husband’s wedding band. Oops.
All good 🌟
Wow congrats on the 30 years!
Thanks!
May your wedding ring continue to be a cherished symbol of your lasting bond. 🙂
What a great answer! 🙂 It is also the oldest thing that I am wearing too!
They mean more the longer we wear them I think Colin.
Agreed!! 🤗🤗🙏
My wedding ring also, although I do have some clothes from the 80s. I have some shoes from the 70s…Dr. Scholl’s wooden soled sandals. Can’t bring myself to get rid of them!
I wish I had kept more of my Mothers clothes (or she had) she had wonderful pieces that were perfectly tailored and we are similar in size and figure. Now I’m older I tend to wear what I want although I think fashion is more forgiving and less structured then it was in precious generations. Either way, it is one of the gifts of growing older, we learn what suits us and have the self confidence to wear it.
