Seen collectively
Trees are easy to dismiss as all the same
Time spent with them however
Tells a different story
They are each unique
From bark pattern to leaf
To colour to lean
To growth
And that is one species alone
So I go where trees grow
To untangle my own
Feelings
Because feelings
To the person who numbs everything
Into a grey morass of uncertain mess
Because they have no time to untangle
That
Right now
Because they have no wish to feel
That
Right now
Become dense and strange
Unfortunately
All living organisms are the same
They will eventually erupt
If left to become overly full and fester
So how to unwind
the over worked mind
Is a bit of a quandary in itself.
I glance at trees as I pass
And wonder
What am I feeling right now?
And the trees
Used to speaking to the wind
Take it all in
Never uttering a sound
Because only silence
Allows
Negatively charged energy to leak out
Safely
And the sweat paints trails along my spine
As I tramp and let go of all the things my mind
finds it difficult to let go of usually
I see leaves of a hundred different shades
Patterns
That have dropped because they simply forgot
To hold on
A few snaps of 24 hours spent in one of my favourite places. Restoration for the price of a $59 non powered overnight campsite (it’s far cheaper if you stay longer) with such limited internet service that I was forced to stare at trees until it drizzled and then curl up in my tent and read. I wish the internet had never happened, but then also – I love information and writing, so enforced time offline is a must.
