I pulled a passionfruit vine down once
It had grown all over a structure
Become a weed
I wanted it gone
As I pulled and tugged I had to admire
It’s strength and tenacity
Which came from a thousand hands
Each tiny tendril tightly wrapped
Around pieces of wire
Holding strong
Together
Pulling the entire vine
Higher
The structure behind
Allowing growth
Verdant growth
An upward trajectory
Without the support
The many hands
The vine would have just been a ground cover
A trodden dusty thing
Easily weeded
And not at all fulfilling its purpose
No
Vines are meant to climb
But trees
Trees
Just
Grow
Taller
And stronger
All on their own
Yes! Very true! 🙂
