Above is a link to me reading poetry on Utube – it’s one of the poems that I wrote when Mum was sick – a long time ago now
I hadn’t read the poem for a long time
So I got a little emotional as surprisingly it brought up some hurt
I left that in there though because it shows the power of words
The power to pour out what hurts
And to release that awful pressure off of our chest
Out of our throat
Words are powerful
Forgive the amateur reading
I’ll practice more ..
What a great reading Kate, the emotional part added to it and I enjoyed the words about poetry too ❤️👌
It’s just so true Kellie – don’t know where I would be without poetry as a means of expression ❤️
Lovely!
Thanks 😊 bit amateur hour but I guess it’s authentic at that.
Ha, as you say, it’s more authentic when it’s heartfelt but it is funny how differently we absorb and process the spoken word as opposed to the written.
Words amaze me. The way that they have the power to affect, carry, release, absorb and play upon our brains and hearts like a musician – I’m falling more in love with the process and in awe of it the older I get.
Yes, I know what you mean! Truly, they have the power that we sometimes think they had lost!
Thanks 😊
Always welcome!
Kate❤️❤️
You should do this too Andrada –
I
Love people reading aloud!
I think I will try, I have never done it. I’m not sure how I would sound , because sometimes I go back and read some of the things that be written and they make me cry :). I loved listening to you ❤️❤️
Aren’t words amazing like that – they have the power to take us straight back – I was going to do a retake but I’m not sure I would get through it then either without crying – I don’t think that the point – emotion is natural and shouldn’t be hidden
❤️❤️
A beautiful poem that’s obviously very emotive as it’s so entwined with that period of time when your mum was sick. And you have an amazing reading (I’m not deaf either)!
Caz xx
Thankyou! Particularly nice knowing you’re not deaf!
Great read, Kate.
Thanks Len. 😊
