Social Media

Some people keep their lives private.

Some of us are wired to connect

Neither choice is wrong

And people who judge

Forget

People who share

Choose what they share

And when

Not for attention,

not for applause

but because energy wants to move.

When something lights me up,

my instinct is to pass the spark on.

It feels natural, like calling someone over

to look at a beautiful sky.

Sharing isn’t “big-noting.”

It’s just overflow.

Sharing happiness, awe, wonder

Art

Is something humans have done forever

If you watch the way someone’s smile

Infects and ripples throughout a space

We are energetic impulses

Seeking resonance

Candles catching fire

So next time you hesitate to post a moment that has brought you joy

Made you proud

Remember

You may just be snuffling an impulse

That moved us all towards

A more creative world

And if you are measuring your self worth

From the likes you receive

Don’t

Watch what your feed does instead

And you will see

It gives you more of what you just posted

The algorithm follows your interests

Dance

And forget who is watching

Love

And help the world catch fire

Header photo is of a goat (obviously) he/she it hangs on the wall of the Nindigully Pub Qld and of course Australia. I waited out a storm there yesterday on a bike trip to Thallon a little further on down the road – the rest of the photos and story on Instagram where I’m sharing more these days because it’s fun.

And also my SubStack newsletter posted this morning – have a lovely week-end!

  1. A thought about poles, insulators, wires and generators buzzed into my mind when this energy emerged from the inbox. Hmmm, am I a transformer?
The brainbox light is now on anyway.
    Thanks you Kate.

  2. Love this! Thank you for the inspiration, Kate. 🔥 I was thinking about this subject earlier – how sharing, connecting, and communicating, with other creatives online, is expansive and freeing. 💗
