Okay updated based on comments the beat version would combine the photo and logo and I think that too so thanks for all your help!
I will make it quick
I’ve been thinking about my bloooming avatar (I’m not keen on my selfie avatar but it has sort of become my site icon which follows me over to twitter and Insta ..)
I’ve been thinking should I change it to a logo
Or keep it personable by putting up with the photo
I whipped up a couple of quick logos
Take a look and tell me
Do you prefer a personable photo
Or you don’t care if I change it to a logo
I’m only worried about the opinion of my blogger tribe and then will either change
Or not
Everywhere else
Thanks 😊
Option A Option B or don’t change..
I personally like your current one as I think it distinctive
Thanks Stuart
I prefer option B. It looks simple and better. Maybe because I prefer simplicity.
Yes I like the white too
I love the combo!
Great! yes went with that one in the end. Thanks Alison
I like the first one.
The one with books.
Thanks Yassy 😘
Why not both? Your photo – which I think captures the person you are brilliantly – then as a ‘featured’ image, the logo. A win win ~ George
Good idea George – Back to Canva
I prefer the one with the books ❤️
Thanks Rosie – ended up with a combo and I really like it now.
Change is not always good. Look at Coca-Cola. I miss the heft of the thick, glass bottles. Yet the trend is to keep brands “alive” through partial or full logo redesign. Maybe they are right. And maybe it’s the passing of my years that feels comfort in the usual. My vote, for what is worth, is keep your current logo.
Thanks Dan think I will incorporate it into the new one
I agree with George. 😉
Thanks M working on that
😉
I’d say both (Your photo and the option B). Your photo has great character and the logo is very simple but neat.
Thanks Sarah
Thanks Sara I find it so annoying that WordPress won’t let me follow your blog – trying to work my way around it – there are a few blogs that (even though they are obviously WordPress blogs) come up as “deleted or not found” see how I go – thanks for commenting 😊
Oh no! That stinks. I haven’t run into that issue yet but I haven’t been here for long.
WordPress is mostly really great, it just has a few glitches, as it would there are millions of bloggers nowadays
I like the photo but the first logo is really good. I don’t know my way around WP but it would be great if there was a way you could combine the too like on Facebook with the background image and profile pic.
Yep I think the combo is the way to go less of one more of the other
I think the design you’ve now chosen works well. Good choice .. hehe 😉
I love your photo, you look intelligent, yet mischievous, and like you’re brimming with millions of thoughts, like you know something we don’t know (in a good way) and you’ve got to get in on paper. That being said, if you change it the one with the books for sure!
Hi Mare – I created the mad picture to be a persona who was gutsier and wittier than I felt at the time …so I can’t leave her behind now she has bought me so many posts 😊 I added her into the logo instead.
Excellent choice!
Oh just so glad it’s over – I can think myself into a bit of stew over absolutely nothing at times 😂
Incorporate your photo with option A
Thanks Ebb I believe that’s what I will do
I agree on incorporating your photo into option A.
Thanks River that’s what I’ve done.
You’re welcome.
Good branding theory dictates that if you make a switch, you make it everywhere. I agree. Option A. Your picture is fine, but your logo adds a little professional polish.

Thanks Ray thinking of a combo of the 2
I really love the photo it’s funny and brings a smile to my face, you can add in your logo box on you website but definitely the one with the books.
Thanks Lily 😊
Anytime 😊
I prefer the “personable” photo anytime! You, the poet, is real and tangible, unlike a thousand bits of paper. I share George at Zoolon’s view: you can have both.
Thanks Rosaliene – I used that photo as it looked like I wasn’t taking myself too seriously and yet here I am in a dither …have incorporated it into the logo as suggested – hopefully it works
A photo with logo.☕️😎☕️
Thanks 😊
You are perfect love your vision 💜💜
😘💫
I like a personable avatar best x
Thanks Katelyn – I’ve combined them – hopefully it will work
Ooo I love ’em all, does that count?! I think I like the main logo with the photo, but the perfectionist part of me wants the photo scooched over to the right a little so it lines up with the books underneath 😉
Caz xx
Hahaha – Canva has so many options you could play all day – thanks for your comments Caz.
I like the first one, with the photo and logo. It looks well composed! In case you are removing the photo, you should recompose the logo and title. 🙂
Thanks Sarthak – went with photo and logo in the end 😊
I like the photo. The logo looks more like books than paper (yes, I know books contain paper pages) 😉
Hahah thanks Claire I’m a bit of both – reader/writer to sides of the one coin really 😊
I like the portrait, it’s like you are here. But by all means the logo is cool. The tribe wouldn’t desert thee. The connection is well in place. Sealed. Good Luck 🙂
Thanks Lawrence that’s so lovely to hear 🌷😊
Thank you very much! 😊
Kathryn—apologies for not addressing you by name. So absent minded of me!😌
Oh Don’t give it a second thought mate – I’m Kate Kathryn ATBOP (as someone shortened the blog name to and I think it’s funny) or just whatever 😊
Thank you, Kate!
A personal phot probably works best but I like the top gray logo as well. Great post!
Oh thanks 😊 yes went with a combination of the two in the end.
The photo is great – so full of character and interest. Great design.
Am I too late? The one with the photo.
Hahah perfect thank you that’s the one I used in the end
LOL yay!
