Nature doesn’t change because you want her to
Nor does she listen
If you wish to argue with her current status
Nature doesn’t bend to the whimsy of others
And I’ve never heard a tree complain
Even when it is struck asunder by lightning
Nor the ground run away frightened
By the intensity of the noise
I thought of this
As I stood within another’s emotional storm
Heard them argue with their own assumption
About who I was
My edges softened into the shape of a cloud
And nothing they said
Was heard after that
Precipitation
Happens
Without a word
Yet it changes everything below
The ground waits
The rain falls
Transformation
Occurs
And I don’t think the grass that grew
Looked back
And reflected
On anything at all
