Mother’s Voice

She was the voice in my head

Before my own began

a subtle sound

I couldn’t understand

But loved

Later

She was the voice in my head

when I struggled

or worried

or was confused

Now

She is the voice in my head

Even though her bones

are long dead

She reminds me

that once a mother

always a mother

and that the voice of our other

deepest

first love

never

leaves

our

heads

She

Is always there

when we need it most

And now she is here in the room as my sister and I talk and laugh in tune with one another’s hearts and our Mothers who made us both.

❤️✨to all.

I’m off riding still and staying at my sisters overnight – another day has sprung and the road awaits.

This was yesterday’s roadside snap (we bike people are always taking bellies (bike selfies) 😉😘)
