Who we are
When we are asleep
Is up for review
I think
Therefore I am
But in sleep
I dream
Therefore I can
Show myself the measure
Of a potential
Out of reach
And waking
Is a choice
Of life
Over sleep
But I am aware
Of every moment
As complacency creeps
On soft sock shod feet
And comfort is a lure
That keeps us bound
The threads that climb
And wind throughout
Entropy
Is always waiting to suck us down
*And the only way to defeat it
Is to keep moving
Keep writing
And keep learning

Here is a brief personal reflection on your comments about planning.
Sorry – Posted in error!
I couldn’t properly shape my thoughts about ‘planning’ being a kind of dialogue with the future.
Oh I love that thought – we are in constant dialogue with the future DD aren’t we? Whether we are aware of it or not
Yes, and it’s an unfolding dialogue where we learn as we go along. Sometimes we can shape what is unfolding but not necessarily control it.

I never quite understood how I ended up in charge of planning at a couple places where I worked. Possibly because of this ‘flexible’ attitude.
When humans make plans, God laughs or some thing or other…flexibility is key for sure
I love that image, Kate. It perfectly captures how quietly comfort can undo us.
Much love,
David
💕thanks David and yes comfort is the great undoer of the modern world
Gorgeous picture 👌
Thanks
great post, Kate; yes, I’m well aware of the lure of comfort; we need challenges to send us forth into the world, to develop and hopefully evolve ; entropy will have to wait till death —
Yes John absolutely and thanks for reading
