Curiosity is a craving
Sent out upon the world
And it is never quite satiated
Instead it licks
And gulps
Lolls in the shade of a tree
For but a heartbeat
Before the question monster kicks in again
To live within the predatory
Appetites of a curious mind
Is to never know peace
Apart from in those terse strained moments
Of self control
Shhhhh
Stop asking
I admit defeat
And for a second it all falls silent
Lassitude seeps in
Then I wonder as to etymology
It begins again

Oddly, perhaps, this puts me in mind of ‘Once more unto the breach, once more’. So let us set the teeth, dear Kate, and spread the nostrils wide.

I guess I too have a curious mind, but not in the way you mean!

Thanks Kate,
Be well and do good.
Kind regards,
DD
Never stops DD – hope you’re well 😊
