The ocean is a fluctuating
Throwing humans about like toys
We run to her
Like she is our mother
Salt stained skin
Seaweed tangles in my hair
And I wonder
How do I live without this
Cracking surf conditions…

Now I want to go to the beach.
Haha – it’s pouring rain and still beautiful – I love the ocean
Beautiful! I grew up inland but have lived beside the sea for nearly 20 years. She’ll always be my home now.
Thankyou. I only see her intermittently but she is sure a tonic for the soul.
I’m sorry my WordPress is glitchy at the moment and I thought I had replied to your comment, you are blessed to live near the sea. We live several hours inland so it is always a bit of a trip – worthwhile though, so worthwhile.
No worries. I did get a reply earlier. The sea is usually cold where I am but it’s still beautiful. I’d love to be somewhere warmer where I could swim in it.
This is beautiful. She can be vicious but she can be so, so calming, a balm for stress, washing away our worries and bringing us home. A wonderful piece.
Thanks Caz 😊
