Took a little trip..
There is something magical about motorbike travel. I hadn’t been to the job sites in Surat (a small town about an hour away) for awhile, the weather was perfect, I took the bike.
An hour there,
An hour back,
A weight shifted
Dislodged
Blew away on the wind
Straight shoulders walked back in
and made a cup of tea
smiling
So now the real world trickles in around the edges and I must go and check the emails, pay the bills, don my admin hat, pull it down firmly over wind tangled hair. But that smile, it won’t leave easily.
So cheap, a few dollars of fuel in the tank. Wind therapy, always worth the time and money.
Header photo: my bike – I took the panniers off it before I left, and had quite forgotten how light and nimble it feels without them. We all need to lose the baggage sometimes.

good to see you back, Kate.. sounds lovely.🌹
Hi Cindy, always happiest when creating – life gets in the way sometimes but I shouldn’t let it 😊
“But that smile, it won’t leave easily.” Now, that’s how you know your day had meaning.
The Japanese call it ikagai Mitch. I think I might call it “maintaining the inner smile”. Which is a mouthful in more than just a string of words 😁
enjoyed this post; I have never ridden a motor bike; had to look up ‘panniers’ ; great last line 🙂
Thanks John, some people never have the inclination. I rode motorbikes when I was a girl, to muster on our sheep property so I grew up comfortable on them. The highway though is something special, love travelling this way.
