This thing exists
Good or bad
Joyous or sad or fractious and intense
Within a border
Within a fence
Whilst ever I can keep it there
A frame
I can reframe
No matter what comes along
Make it say love
Instead of confusion
Make it say love
Instead of grief
Place other things beside it
So it has company when it weeps
As an artist
I can do anything at all
I keep emotions in frames
And hang them on my wall
That way they are safely
Well
Away
From
Me
*If only it was that easy! But working with thoughts, which cause the emotions in the first place, becomes so much easier the more I see that I really am creating my reality every moment. Perhaps by the time I am 80 I may even manage to be calm all the time, but then, isn’t it the ups and downs on the heart machine that tell us we are alive?
Reframing is certainly useful though, I’ll keep trying.
On Instagram I’m up to date 24 of my photography challenge. It isn’t just the daily taking of photos, it is also the daily use of a social media platform (I don’t count WP as social media) that’s teaching me things.
Mostly that the greater part of art is consistency, trying, continuing and listening to our own heart and intuition. There are so many great photographers on social media, it’s easy to compare yourself and think “why bother?”

Because they show you where you want to be, where you can be, if you keep showing up. Plus I love it.
Have a great day, and keep reframing those pesky doubts and dreary grouches.

yes! i’ve often found that the act of reframing things deliberated on brings more solutions/options than one could imagine. these compositions and your words are beautiful. have a great wednesday! Mike
Thanks Mike, your thoughts are much appreciated. Cheers Kate
I just love how you frame this Kate: Wonderful choice of words:
“Place other things beside it
So it has company when it weeps
As an artist
I can do anything at all
I keep emotions in frames
And hang them on my wall”
Great photos BTW💕. love you’re loving the process❣️
👏👏👏
Thanks Cindy,
I am certainly loving photography again, it nourishes my writing I’m finding. Art begets art 💕
Oh I love that and it’s sooo true❣️
I love this. Not only the concept of “reframing,” and “but then, isn’t it the ups and downs on the heart machine that tell us we are alive?” but also the implicit idea of the power in art. Thank you, Kate!
My pleasure Camilla, and thankyou for all you lovely thoughtful comments on posts , you’ve made my day 💕
