Feet
Step
Lightly on the earth
My eyes know how far
My mind recalls
But my heart doesn’t care
Suffering is something the body bears
My soul surrounds me like a glove
holding me up
casting me further down the road
I roll like a stone
Over and over
And eventually the mind
Stops it’s useless murmur
The sun breaks over my shoulder
The sound of birdsong rises
I let it take me higher
Run

What a magnificent poem!
These two lines are particularly poignant: “Suffering is something the body bears / My soul surrounds me like a glove”
I often feel that way. So thank you!
My pleasure Cendrine, it’s lovely to hear this resonates with you 💕
