Star grass lies in drifts
Against fences
Hedges
And anywhere else the wind has left it
A change in direction
Sees it dance gracefully south
pivot north
Some days it just goes back and forth across the paddock
It doesn’t seem to have a favourite track
Or purpose
I wonder what’s that like
As I pull my shoes on
And walk out the door
2024
Was so last year

Kate, your poem feels light yet thoughtful. I love how it captures both movement and introspection.
