I wake to a grey morning
And run
Because if consistency is the greater part of art
It is also the greater part of health
Mental
And physical
The bird on the power pole sings
It knows it is dawn
That the sun is merely hiding behind clouds
And there is reason to sing
For he and I
We are alive
And if the day is grey
Let it be what it is
And if the sun comes out later
Well
We all need a sleep in sometimes
*the photos are from my iPhone because running requires me to be light and it’s pocketable – plus it has a great camera. Everything is soft grey wooly – gentle and cold. A hot shower now that I’m home. Have a lovely day. I think the most important sun is the one in our hearts, it’s always there, sometimes it just hides behind the clouds.

i find myself missing those gray mornings of the colder months. there was a beauty and serenity in it. lovely photos of your run.Mike
Thanks Mike. I love the sun and the colours of dawn, but there is a solemn hush to a grey morning.
Your post sings! Of many hopeful and beautiful things. It is evening, dark where I am but reading your post makes it feel like a new day is about to begin. Soon!
Dawn is my favourite time whatever the weather Michele, there is always a sense of “anything could happen”
Oh yes, definitely! I love to breathe it in. 🧘🏻♀️🙏🏻
I love a gray morning!! The photo of the kangas standing alert in the mists as you pass – priceless! (As if on cue, a mother doe just emerged from the forest with a tiny speckled fawn!) And it was World Running Day, too! Glad you got a good one in! 🏃🏼♀️
Thanks Camilla, the Roos thankfully stayed to the side of my dog would have had me sprinting a personal best to catch them down the straight😁
Love that dog is your running copilot! And I’m just still so delighted by the idea of going for a morning run and seeing kangaroos! (To me, this is so exotic! 🙂 ). While our deer and elk and bobcat and wild turkeys seem commonplace. 😉
They don’t sound commonplace to me! They sound fascinating and I would love to see squirrels 🐿️ Roos are very commonplace where I live but still charming, to me at least
And just as I’m responding to this, Mama doe brought her little spotted baby down from the field and onto our driveway! I never tire of seeing them, either! I wish I could ship you some squirrels, though! 😆
Lovely words.
Oh? Kangaroos 🦘 in the distance? So very cool.
