Over and Over until it’s Over

The constriction of abiding

In a worn out hide

Because unlike the snake

I never took to scales

My rebalancing

Occurs

On the inside

We come into life

Poured into a tiny vessel

And identify with a face

A body

That is pure transformation

A reflection greets the day

We say

Ahh

Here she is

Me

This skin

And bones

That belong

to Me

But nature is constantly eroding our coastlines

Taking

Giving

Rearranging

The birds fly above

Watching everything shrink as they rise

Eagles don’t cling

They glide

To find similar height

We must look further within

Perceive the soul behind the eyes

Find locus

Unlock focus

Skimming

from toothbrush

to comb

to soap

I meet my exterior in the mirror

whisper gently

“Come on you temporary thing,

let’s begin

again ”

Over and over

Until it’s over

    • Hi Cindy as I read this, it is evening light and the scent of Orange blossoms after the recent rain – beautiful smelltrack (this should be a word?)to be seeing you pop up in my comments. Have a lovely day/night 💕

      • Awww yes, a word for sure and it sounds heavenly. I’m thinking of posting my last post just to raise awareness or stir the pot on Substack if I can figure it out. ❤️
