It rises
teaching me
how to rise too.
To leave everything on the ground
Evaporate towards the clouds
Becoming more transparent
All around
Fog to mist
vapour to air
Join with the clouds
Come back down again
As gentle rain
That feeds the ground
Grows the grass
Nitrogen
Descended
Transformed
Excreted
Rises
Transforms
Deleted
Never.
Everything is circular
In the body
In life
Within the planet
And on it
Outwards into the universe
only space junk will circle endlessly.
Inwards, same old stuff, until we choose to transform it.
*I’m writing in a lot of different places at the moment. My creativity is off the chart and I’ve put it down to developing a super power, consistency. I now have two substack accounts – the first has my “These 2 Hands” project which takes a deeper look at the roles people play in our communities and combines my two loves of photography and human stories. The second is for longer-form essays and writing. I opened it by mistake but it might be one of my better mistakes so I’m keeping it. I just published my first article on that account and the link to it is here: https://open.substack.com/pub/shouldhavebeenbeth/p/consistency-as-a-path?r=1frfdp&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true
I know. There are more than enough things competing for our attention these days. The thing is, I found another truism lately. If I am creating then I am not wasting time on useless pursuits that add nothing to my life. If you need a little inspiration to get into a consistent habit and watch that power grow into every corner of your life – perhaps check it out. Have a lovely day X

Your words, these words, this poem is powerfully shared and delivered and suspends to the ethersa of time and space and my soul, Kate. Breathing it in. I will now go check out your other writing.,. off the charts i would say as well. 👏❣️❣️
Thanks Cindy. Very different sorts of writing on substack. Poetry is my favourite, but I also love human stories and the other essays I am beginning so that I can document what works for me and what doesn’t.
I appreciate you reading as I’m starting from scratch over there so it would be nice to have a friendly face from WordPress. 😊
Its a pleasure… I started to comment but it made me sign in and I don’t want more emails. it’s so much and i admire you taking on another place to write❤️
Oh I understand the emails thing believe me, but thankyou for reading. I’ve got a few reasons for having the two different substack accounts but I am really enjoying some of the other writers over there as well.
You know it and it’s my pleasure for sure. It’s commendable you have the time.. that’s awesome💗
It made for rather riveting reading, because it takes the reader on the same journey the writer is on. very good!
Thankyou 😊
Great writing as always 👍
I’m curious why you have chosen Substack. I just opened a Medium account and it seems a fantastic option for writers. It’s paying though.
But the main thing for me is and will be WP, because of the community.
Have a wonderful Sunday Kate 🙏
Hi Chris. I love WordPress too and my main blog and the heart of what I do and who I am remains here.
I chose substack for my photography/human stories project “These 2 Hands” because it is separate from my blog and I already had an unused account there, so thought I would fire it up again. Now that I’ve begun I also realised that it generates an email list as people follow. This is different to WordPress where WordPress followers normally follow from WordPress itself (though I think I do have a few email subscribers). I have a novel that is ready to be pitched and I’ve heard publishers like an email list. Therefore Substack ticks a couple of boxes. Then I created another stack for longer form writing that isn’t poetry orientated, so I thought I would practice that on the second stack which is more for me but if others find it helpful or interesting, great.
Substack has the option to be a subscription paid account if you want it to be but yes, plenty of people write on Medium I believe but I don’t follow it so I’m not sure what it is like. WordPress is hands down the best community though, and I love my blog and really enjoy writing here.
Thank you so much for this comprehensive and long answer 🙏 I heard that Substack works differently, seems interesting, depending on what your goals are as a writer. I can understand your choice.
I can’t tell you much about Medium, I just subscribed yesterday. I noticed that a lot of writers published very long posts with few images (they don’t like AI pictures so much at Medium). There’s not much goofing around in Medium, most of them take themselves very seriously. I like the humour here in WP and as you said the stellar community ✨
Take good care 🙏
Your words are powerful
Thankyou Anuran
