There is an energy to a weighted word
I should remember this
Instead they came out of my mouth like water from a tap
No drip
All gush
flurry and noise
Things that made no sense
Yet they landed light and cheery
Floated away to the tree
Fell like a leaf
They carried no meaning
Returned no grief
Because if I stopped to think
To speak right then
From my vast interior cathedral
Those two words or three
Of unbelievable magnitude
Would drop
Heavy as a boulder
Obliterating
Everything
So I
Who is not a hugger by trade
Hugged all and sundry
To hide the shade
And naunce of any meaning
Left like a light switched off
Into an impossible evening
Because fleeting
Was the only possible response
To the feeling
Of suddenly being lost

Wonderful symbolism, depth, and higher-level connections. ✨Love your poetry, Kate! ❤️
Thanks Michele 💕
Thank you! 💕
Some words need release, others need a cover of poetry
Oh I so love this Kate. You impress me you could keep those boisterous words under wrap.
Trust me.. I’d have made a mess of them! 😂
difficult to quell the impulse Cindy!
