I sit with the stars
To remind me
Of the difference between long
And short
And old
and young
And that even things that look alive
sparkle and shine
Are already gone
And everything dies
And the vast
And the small
Will come to us all
Because these things
I forget sometimes

it’s so humbling to realize how the stars are a derivative measure of – not only time – but the sheer depth and meaning of it. at some point in this universe, as before, time will not even matter. indeed “the vast and the small will come to us all”. loved this Kate.

Thanks Mike, they are the every night ordinary occurrence, rendered profound with a little thought ✨
Wonderful thoughtful words Kate, and a fine reminder to us all about life, and death, and the importance of all things both BIG and little.

Kate, I love how “I forget sometimes” brings the whole universe back down to one very human-sized confession.
Much love,
